Long before he was headlining films like Jumanji: The Next Level and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, Johnson faced poverty, legal trouble and crushing setbacks that nearly derailed his future.
Born into a wrestling family, Johnson spent much of his childhood moving from place to place while his parents struggled financially. During his teenage years in Hawaii, things became especially difficult after his family was reportedly evicted from their home.
The future superstar later admitted he repeatedly found himself in trouble as a teenager and was arrested multiple times for theft and fighting-related incidents.
