Poor Boy Opens the Golden Safe

The rich guests filled the grand ballroom, laughter echoing under the crystal chandeliers.

At the center stood a boy in an oversized brown jacket—his father’s last remaining coat.

A golden safe towered beside him like a monument.

The guests whispered and laughed.

GUEST (mocking):
“Is this really the thief’s son?”

Adrian Vale stepped forward, smiling like the entire room belonged to him.

ADRIAN VALE:
“Your father failed to open this safe for years. Let’s see if you can do better.”

He leaned closer, lowering his voice.

ADRIAN VALE:
“Open it… and I’ll give you ten thousand dollars.”

The room laughed again.

The boy didn’t react.

Inside his mind, his mother’s words echoed:

“Don’t trust them. They destroyed your father.”

The boy stepped forward.

BOY (softly):
“If I open it… you all promise to stay and watch?”

The laughter fades slightly.

Adrian nods confidently.

The boy places his hand on the dial.

Click.

A pause.

Click.

The safe unlocks.

Silence falls instantly.

Adrian’s smile disappears.

The boy reaches for the handle—

Adrian suddenly shouts:

ADRIAN VALE:
“STOP!”

The room freezes.

The boy looks up.

And slowly pulls the handle anyway…
Inside: an old sealed envelope labeled:

“FOR THE TRUTH — DO NOT HIDE THIS AGAIN”

The guests gasp.

Adrian steps back, his face pale.

GUEST:
“What is that…?”

The boy slowly takes the envelope.

His hands are shaking—but his eyes are steady.

BOY:
“My father said this would prove everything.”

Adrian suddenly moves forward.

ADRIAN VALE (panicked):
“You don’t understand what you’re holding!”

The boy stops.

He looks directly at him.

BOY:
“Then explain why you’re afraid of it.”

Silence.

No laughter anymore.

Only tension.

The boy starts opening the envelope.

Adrian’s voice breaks:

ADRIAN VALE:
“DON’T OPEN IT!”

The seal tears halfway—

And the screen cuts to black.
