Chapter 4: The Unforgivable Truth

The room fell into a terrifying silence.

I slowly turned back toward my bride.

She staggered backward until her body hit the wall.

She could barely breathe.

Because the child she had just locked away...

Wasn't a thief.

Wasn't an intruder.

He was the secret she had buried for years.

Five years earlier, desperate to erase her past and secure a future with my influential family, she abandoned her own son.

She staged his disappearance.

She convinced everyone he was dead.

She played the grieving mother so perfectly that no one questioned her story.

Until today.

When that little boy somehow found his way back...

Recognized the woman who had abandoned him...

And threatened to expose everything.

So she locked him away.

Just long enough to finish the ceremony...

And become my wife.

I looked into her eyes.

I no longer recognized the woman standing before me.

"You're not human," I whispered, my voice colder than ice.

"You're a monster."

I tore the white rose from my lapel and dropped it onto the shattered glass at her feet.

"The wedding is over."

"Call the police."

At that moment...

The empire of lies she had spent years building collapsed forever.
